buceeslocation.com exists to answer one question properly: where is the nearest Buc-ee’s, and is it worth the detour?
That sounds simple. In practice it is not, because Buc-ee’s has grown from a single Texas gas station into a 56-store chain across 18 states with thirteen more announced, and the information about where those stores are is scattered across corporate press releases, local news reports, county planning documents, and highway signage. There was no single place to see all of it on one map, filter it, and plan a route around it. So we built one.
What This Site Does
We maintain an interactive map and searchable directory of every open and announced Buc-ee’s travel center in the United States, along with the tools you actually need when planning a drive around them.
- The location map. Every open store plotted with its address, highway, verified exit number, store size, pump count, Tesla Supercharger stalls, and amenities. Announced stores appear with their expected opening window.
- Search that matches how people actually think. You can search by city, ZIP code, state name or abbreviation, interstate number, exit number, or store number. Typing “Exit 632” takes you to Luling. Typing “I-10” shows every store on that corridor.
- Corridor view. Pick an interstate and the stores reorder into travel sequence, west to east or south to north, with a connecting line so you can see the gaps.
- Trip planner. Enter a start and destination and the map shows only the stores genuinely on your way, filtering out anything that would add more than a 25-mile detour, listed in the order you will reach them.
- Trip cost calculator. Enter your fuel economy, distance, and party size for an honest estimate of what the stop will actually cost, fuel and snacks included.
- Visited store tracker. Tick off stores as you visit them and watch your Buc-ee’s Passport fill up. Stored in your own browser, no account required, nothing sent to us.
- Written guides. State-by-state breakdowns, opening schedules, and the practical detail that decides whether a stop is worth it: which store has the Wall of Jerky, which one is genuinely the largest, and when each location is quietest.
Who Runs It
buceeslocation.com is run by a small independent team of road trip enthusiasts who spent too many drives across Texas, the Gulf Coast, and the I-75 corridor working out where the next decent stop was. We are not journalists on a payroll and we are not a corporate publisher. We are people who use this map ourselves, which is the main reason the details on it are the ones that actually matter when you are three hours into a drive with a full car.
The site is not staffed by Buc-ee’s employees and has no access to internal company information. Everything we publish comes from public sources, and we say so.
We Are Independent
This site is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or officially connected to Buc-ee’s Ltd. We are an unofficial directory. “Buc-ee’s” and related marks belong to Buc-ee’s Ltd., and we use the name descriptively because there is no other way to describe a directory of Buc-ee’s locations.

How We Build the Directory
Every entry in the directory is assembled from public sources and checked before it goes live:
- Store addresses and numbers come from published company location listings and official opening announcements.
- Exit numbers are cross-checked against state department of transportation exit databases and highway signage. If we cannot verify an exit number, we leave it blank rather than guess. A store showing a highway but no exit means unconfirmed, not nonexistent.
- Store sizes come from company statements and local permitting coverage, which is why some figures are precise, like Luling’s 75,593 square feet, and others are the round 74,000 the company quotes for its current flagship template.
- Announced locations and opening dates come from company announcements, county and city planning records, and local news reporting. We date them and mark them provisional, because construction schedules slip constantly.
- Reader reports. People who visit a store and find something different from what we published tell us, and those reports are among our most valuable corrections.
Where a figure is an estimate rather than a verified fact, we label it as an estimate on the page itself. Fuel prices and crowd levels fall into this category: they are modelled, not live feeds, and we would rather say so than imply a precision we do not have. What We Get Wrong
Retail data goes stale. A directory of this size will always have entries that have drifted since we last checked them: a car wash out of service, a charger bank expanded, an opening date quietly pushed back a year. We do not pretend otherwise.
What we commit to is fixing things quickly when they are reported, being explicit about which figures are estimates, and never inventing a detail to fill a gap. If we do not know a store’s exit number, the field stays empty.
How the Site Is Funded
The site is free to use, has no paywall, and requires no account. It is funded by display advertising served through Google AdSense.
Advertising and editorial are kept strictly separate. Advertisers do not choose which stores appear in the directory, how they are described, or the order in which they are listed. No store or business can pay to be featured, promoted, or ranked higher. If we ever run affiliate links or sponsored content, it will be labelled clearly at the point where it appears.
Why We Write with a First-Person Voice
To make our travel guides practical and easy to read, we adopt a personal, first-person perspective. We deliberately avoid dry corporate language so our guides feel like advice from a helpful fellow traveler planning a trip alongside you. This style is purely designed to keep the content engaging, relatable, and easy to navigate.
Our Research & Verification Process
While our articles use a conversational tone, the underlying details, such as store amenities, highway exit numbers, and travel tips, are built entirely on rigorous secondary research. We aggregate and cross-check information from official press releases, public planning documents, local highway records, and real customer feedback. Even without visiting every location in person, our goal remains providing accurate, verified, and structured data you can rely on for your journey.
Privacy, Briefly
You do not need an account. We do not ask for your name. The “Find Buc-ee’s Near Me” button uses your browser’s location only if you approve the prompt, and the calculation happens in your browser, not on our servers.
